This roof replacement project brought us to the beautiful countryside of Marshall, Virginia! The process began with the existing roofing material being completely torn off down to the plywood and any old plywood was replaced or re-nailed. DiamondDeck underlayment was installed followed by WinterGuard Ice and Water shield to protect from ice and water damage. Drip edge was then installed along all roof edges to direct water away from the roof and into the gutters. SureStart starter shingles were applied along the eaves, which helps provide a stable base for the main shingles as well as protects from wind and ice. The CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles in "Colonial Slate" were then installed.
For ventilation, ridge vent and ridge caps were installed along the roof peak to promote air circulation and prevent moisture buildup. Lifetime Tool flashing was then used to replace the pipe jack flashing to help protect against leaks. Chimney flashing and turtle vents were replaced to help prevent water damage and promote air circulation.
Lastly, we replaced and flashed all of the skylights and installed a cricket on the chimney to divert water and debris away from the area.
